A small market with a large door: duty-free access to the Eurasian Economic Union
Kyrgyzstan is the smallest of the five industrial markets — and for some European suppliers the most practical entry point, because it is open, close to Almaty and part of a customs union of around 185 million people.

Gold mining dominates the economy, but the interesting demand for European suppliers is spread across energy, food processing, textiles and building materials.
Around 2,500 industrial companies operate in the country, most of them small and privately owned. Hydropower is the backbone of electricity supply and a permanent modernisation task; food processing and garment manufacturing produce largely for export into the Eurasian Economic Union; construction materials follow the building activity around Bishkek and Osh.
Order sizes are smaller than in Kazakhstan, decisions are faster, and the market is unusually open to newcomers. Many suppliers use it as a first reference in the region, and as a production base with duty-free access to the customs union.
Member of the Eurasian Economic Union, with duty-free access to a market of around 185 million people.
Most of Kyrgyzstan lies above 1,000 metres, and its mines work much higher. Choose a place or move the slider: this is what altitude does to the air — and to the equipment you specify.
Gateway to the Fergana Valley, right at the limit up to which standard ratings apply.
Hydropower on the Naryn. Cold winters and wide temperature swings matter as much as the altitude.
Capital and industrial centre of the Chüy valley. Standard equipment works here without altitude corrections.
A town in the inner mountains. Thin, cold air at once: cooling, heating and insulation need attention.
A mountain lake with industry and tourism on its shores. From here on, air-cooled drives and motors should be checked for derating.
One of the highest gold mines in the world. Everything here is specified for thin air and hard frost.
Schematic profile, altitudes rounded. Values for the standard atmosphere. Drive figure: the common manufacturer rule of about 1 % less per 100 m above 1,000 m — the data sheet applies.
Covered from Almaty, a few hours' drive from Bishkek — close enough for regular presence rather than occasional visits.
The mines, power stations, processors and manufacturers that match your technology — a manageable number, which makes the work concrete.
In a market this size, decisions usually sit with the owner or a single technical director — and they are reachable.
What duty-free access to the customs union means in practice for your delivery route, pricing and possible local assembly.
Partner selection, offer preparation and the commercial follow-up — often combined with a programme in Kazakhstan.
Most of Kyrgyzstan lies above 1,000 metres. Industry follows the valleys and the ore, and trade follows a handful of crossings: north into the Eurasian Economic Union, west into the Fergana Valley.
The capital in the Chüy valley: food processing, building materials, trade and the road north into Kazakhstan.
The second city and gateway to the Fergana Valley: textiles, food processing and trade.
One of the largest mountain lakes in the world; tourism and agriculture along its shores.
The largest reservoir and hydropower plant on the Naryn — the backbone of the power system and a permanent modernisation task.
One of the highest gold mines in the world. Gold is the country's largest export.
The main road crossing into Kazakhstan, about 20 km from Bishkek — the door into the Eurasian Economic Union.
The crossing between Osh and Andijan into Uzbekistan — the road into the Fergana Valley, one of the most densely populated regions in Central Asia.

On its own, rarely. Combined with Kazakhstan it usually is — and for some suppliers it is the easiest place to build a first reference installation in the region.
Goods moving inside the union avoid customs duties between member states. For a European supplier this matters mainly when local assembly or a regional distribution base is being considered.
Russian is the working language of industry, alongside Kyrgyz. AETEK works in German, Russian and English. Our representatives also speak the national languages of the region.
From Almaty, which is a few hours by road from Bishkek. That allows regular presence without a separate office.
